Host a Minecraft Server with AI
Connect ChatGPT or Claude to Pixly and ask for a lifesteal, Bedrock crossplay or Cobblemon Minecraft server. The assistant sets it up and fixes crashes.

We tested a Minecraft server with AI on 27 October 2026: three requests sent through Claude Code each produced a running server within 2 minutes 40 seconds of its start. Every section below shows the exact request, then what Pixly ended up with.
Connect your AI app to Pixly
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is how AI apps connect to outside tools. Add this address to your AI app, then sign in to Pixly on its own page and approve the app.
The step-by-step setup for Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code and Codex shows where each app takes the address. To check the connection, ask:
"Which Pixly servers do I have?"
The assistant lists each server by name, with its address and whether it is online or asleep. It asks before choosing a size above 4 GB or a region you did not name, and ChatGPT asks you to confirm each change by default.1
Lifesteal server for you and your friends
"Set up a lifesteal server for me and my friends in Europe."
Claude Code built a lifesteal server in Frankfurt on Paper, a server type that runs plugins.
- LifeStealZ, Modrinth's most-downloaded lifesteal plugin. Each kill steals a heart, a player at zero hearts is eliminated, and players can craft hearts or a revive crystal.2
- Paper 26.2. LifeStealZ stops at Minecraft 26.2, one release behind the newest, so the assistant chose that version.
- Whitelist names. The whitelist starts on, so the assistant adds each friend's Minecraft name before they join.
- Online in 2 minutes 20 seconds. Pixly downloaded
lifestealz-2.21.1.jaron the first start, and Paper printedDone (37.875s)!.
Crossplay with friends on Bedrock
"Let my friends on Bedrock join my lifesteal server."
In our test this came in the same message as the lifesteal request; sent on its own, it switches crossplay on and Pixly installs it at the next restart.
What Pixly added
Geyser, which lets Bedrock players join a Java server; Floodgate, which lets them join without a Java account; and ViaVersion, which lets Java players on 26.3 join this 26.2 server. The console showed
[LifeStealZ] Geyser found, enabling Bedrock player support.Phones, tablets, Windows
Open Play, then Servers, then Add Server, enter the same address and leave the port as it is.
Xbox, PlayStation, Switch
Consoles need a workaround from the Java and Bedrock crossplay guide.
Server types
Crossplay works on Paper, Purpur, Pufferfish, Leaf, and Folia from Minecraft 1.20.5 to 26.3, and on Fabric, NeoForge, and Quilt only on 26.3.
Modded server with Create and Waystones
"Set up a modded server for four friends in Europe with Create and Waystones."
Claude Code built a 4 GB server in Frankfurt on NeoForge, a server type that runs mods.
- NeoForge for Create. Create's releases for Minecraft 1.21.1 run only on NeoForge, and Pixly offers NeoForge on 1.21.1.3
- Balm, added without asking. Waystones requires Balm, a library it builds on, so Pixly downloaded it too:
Downloaded /data/mods/balm-neoforge-1.21.1-21.0.66.jar.4 - Both mods in every friend's game. Each friend installs Create and Waystones in their own game before joining.34
- Online in 2 minutes 39 seconds. The server printed
Done (19.525s)!and Pixly marked it online.
Cobblemon modpack server
"Set up a Cobblemon server for me and my friends in Europe."
Claude Code installed Cobblemon's official modpack, a ready-made set of mods, on a 4 GB server in Frankfurt.
- Fabric on Minecraft 1.21.1. The assistant set the server to the CobbledStudios pack's loader and the newer of its two versions.5
- 33 mod files, 111 mods. Pixly downloaded 33 files on the first start; Fabric printed
Loading 111 mods, counting the libraries packed inside them. - Java 21, picked by Pixly. Nobody named a Java version; Pixly matched it to 1.21.1.
- Ready in 2 minutes 39 seconds. Minecraft printed
Done (23.684s)!.
Bedrock friends cannot join this pack: it stops at 1.21.1, and crossplay on Fabric needs 26.3.
Server that won't start
"My server won't start. Find out why and fix it."
The assistant reads the last 200 console lines and the reason Pixly recorded when it stopped the server, such as Your server couldn't finish starting up. In the setup guide's test, it found UnsupportedClassVersionError, switched the server to Java 21, and the server was ready about 100 seconds later. It cannot type console commands.
Lag and server size
"My server lagged tonight with friends on. Find out why and fix it."
Minecraft runs 20 ticks, or game updates, per second, so each tick has 50 ms; a server that needs longer lags.6 The assistant reads up to 6 hours of history, one sample every 30 seconds: milliseconds per tick, memory use and players online. When lag with players on keeps returning over a few minutes, Pixly names the cause, and each cause has its own fix.
Pauses to free memory
A size with more memory fixes it. The assistant suggests the next size, with twice the memory, and its price.
Waiting for a processor core
On the one-core 4 GB size, world generation and memory cleanup take turns with the game. A size with a second core and the same memory usually fixes it.
The world's own work
A bigger size does not help. Pixly's dashboard lists fixes for the server type, such as pre-generating the world with Chunky,7 a lower simulation distance or Lithium on Fabric,8 and the assistant can add the mods and change the setting.
Stopped for running out of memory
Pixly shows
Your server ran out of memory, so it was stopped. The assistant offers a larger size.
A new size applies at the next start or restart. With nobody online, the Cobblemon server used 2.3 GB of its 3.7 GB.
Whitelist, hardcore, backups and other changes
Each request in the left column can be sent as it is, and the assistant says which changes need a restart.
| You ask | Pixly changes |
|---|---|
| "My friend Alex can't join my server." | Adds Alex to the whitelist from Pixly's record of turned-away players |
| "Make my server hardcore." | One life; dead players become spectators, who only watch |
| "Add proximity voice chat to my server." | Simple Voice Chat or Plasmo Voice; players need the same mod |
| "Make Alex an operator on my server." | Operator level 1 to 4; level 4 runs every command |
| "Back up my server now." | Takes a backup now and restores it when you ask |
| "Use play.example.com for my server." | Sets the custom domain and checks it after you point it at Pixly |
A new server costs nothing until its first start, so you can create a server and have the assistant set it up before anyone joins.
