Minecraft Server Hosting in Europe and the US: Frankfurt Is Live
Minecraft server hosting from Pixly now runs in Frankfurt as well as Ashburn and Portland, so groups in Europe and the US can each play on a server near them.

Pixly's Minecraft server hosting now runs in three regions: Frankfurt for Europe, and Ashburn and Portland for the US. European players no longer wait for every block they break to cross the Atlantic and come back.
Where your server can run
- Frankfurt, Germany — the new region, and the shortest hop for players in the UK, mainland Europe and the Nordics.
- Ashburn, Virginia — the US east coast, and the middle ground for a group split across the Atlantic.
- Portland, Oregon — the US west coast, closest to players on the Pacific side.
Every server runs in one of them, picked when you create it.
Why the region matters more than the size
Distance is the one thing a bigger server cannot fix. A server hosted an ocean away answers every hit, every step and every chest a fraction of a second late, and that delay is what makes combat feel loose and blocks look like they break twice. For a group playing far from its host, moving closer is a bigger improvement than moving up a size.
How to tell which region is fastest
Guessing from a map gets it wrong often enough to matter — the shortest distance is not always the shortest route. The create screen measures the real round trip from your own connection to each region and marks the winner, so the pick is made on your numbers rather than on geography.
Fastest server to you: Ashburn, Virginia …
Rates are quoted per region, so the cost estimate updates as you switch between them.
If you already have a server
Nothing moved. A server stays in the region it was created in, so everything you already run is on the same address it was yesterday. To play from Frankfurt instead, create one there — and if you want the old world to come along, a downloaded backup uploads straight into it.
Pick the region closest to your players
If your players are in Europe, Frankfurt is now the shortest hop Pixly has to them; if they are in the US, that is Ashburn or Portland. The picker on the Minecraft server hosting page measures all three from your connection before you create anything.
